Country Life

Kennewick Costco
So I'll just let you all know from the get go, this only slightly has to do with Costco. This weekend was spent at the lovely Haak family house. We did it all this weekend. We learned all about how apple orchard work, shot guns, fed baby calfs, and last but not least, helped deliver a baby bull!

So Friday night on our drive there we stopped at the Kennewick Costco so I could check this one of my list. The awkward part was once we got there I realized I had at least been to the gas station before, if not inside. Whoops! Anyways, this one is officially checked off the list! Nothing really special to report. Except that I am now down to only one Eastern Washington Costco to visit. We also got treated to Tony Roma's afterwards, so that rocked.

Saturday was a non-stop adventure! It started with Waffles from Papa Haak. Then went to see Alyssa's brother's almost finished house. It's on an apple orchard so we learned all about grafting trees and when to pick and how long they take to grow. Then while we were there, we got to shoot a .22 and .38.

Then we got the long awaited for call. Alyssa's boyfriend Dillon had a cow calving. So we booked it to the dairy. Alyssa through be some boots and gloves and told me to go in and feel. Lets say that that was about all the experience I needed, so I let Alyssa and Dillon do the rest. It was pretty cool, gross, but cool.

Then we thought we would take a break and go to lunch. We went to the cutest little Italian Bistro. BEST GRILLED CHEESE. Which if you know me well is saying something! Then we stopped by my dad's cousin's Marilyn's house. Side note- first day I met Alyssa I walked in and saw a picture of my second cousin found out they were super close and that was that. Chatted with Marilyn and Henry about life.

Finally we went back to the dairy to feed the calves liked plan. It was fun and they we're so cute! We finished off the evening with Taco Soup and watching the Hunger Games so we could take Christie this weekend!

If you can't tell we had fun, plus one more down, 17 to go!

The Valley Costco

Second weekend here and I have already checked off another Costco! Plus this blog has created some great conversation pieces here! We stopped in at the Spokane Valley Costco on our way back from a fun day at Lake Coeur d'Alene. It's a lot like the Lacey Costco. Now I'm down to just two Costcos left in Eastern Washington and I have plans to go to one of them in a few weeks! 12 down, 18 to go!
Christie didn't get in the water, so she took our picture!

Cheesy photobombing :)

Covington Costco

That glorious time of year has returned! That time of year when school starts! I've always loved fall and school starting. I love summer, but its probably my love of routine that makes me love fall. This year coming back to school was a little different. Since my family had moved this summer I have to take a whole new route to school over the mountains. The bright spot in all of this is that we went pass a new Costco! I got to check Covington off my list! This may have been the busy Costco I have ever been to! But, it was Sunday afternoon which is Prime Costco time so hard to tell.

Covington
This will probably be the last Costco adventure for a while. I have a few to get here in Eastern Washington that will be fun exciting trips. The rest are mainly in the Seattle area. So I am hoping to check those off around Christmas Break. 11 down, 19 to go!

Federal Way & Gig Harbor Costcos

What a bad blogger I am! As I was getting ready to write about today's adventure I realized I hadn't yet blogged about the Federal Way Costco I went to a month ago! So they Federal Way Costco is in a great location, because its right next door to Hobby Lobby. I mean does life get better?

Federal Way Costco
Gig Harbor Costco
Today we went to a Wedding up north. My family was nice enough to leave early so we could mark another Costco off my list. Gig Harbor's was the only one on the way so we stopped for lunch. It was definitely the nicest exterior Costco I've been to yet. The inside was very similar to the Lacey Costco.

So two more down the map is turning more green! I'm hoping to get the Eastern Washington ones done soon! The rest on the West side hopefully I'll be able to mark off during Chris
tmas Break!

Lacey Costco

What better way to end a busy week of VBS then checking off another Costco off my list! We went to the Lacey Costco last night and it was very nice. They through us for a bit of a loop by having us go in on the left side and exit the right. So the whole store was flipped of their traditional model. There was also self check-out! Something I hadn't seen at Costco before!

Also I mapped out all the Costcos in Washington to get a good handle on how many more I need to visit. Looks like I have some fun road trips ahead of me! Take a look-https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=212071395710604906205.0004e0cea645ea8339a36&msa=0&ll=46.972756,-119.893799&spn=4.205368,10.821533

Moving

For those of you who are only friends with me on facebook and not the rest of my family, you may not be aware that we moved! The Rupke's now live in Tumwater right outside of Olympia. Big changes for my family. And medium size changes for me as I commute back and forth between Olympia and Vancouver this summer, since I'm still working in Vancouver, before moving back to Whitworth in the fall. If you couldn't figure out where I'm living from the last paragraph don't worry I get confused too. I live everywhere.

Hence the reason I have been rather busy lately and not blogging. But, don't fear even though busy I still have had plenty of time to go to Costco. In fact we have explored some new Costcos. The Costco here is Tumwater has a nice extra seating area for the food court. We also checked out the Tacoma Costco on our trip home from visiting family in Ephrata. Living further North should help me accomplish my goal of visiting every Costco in Washington. From my estimation I have about eight checked off only like 20-30 more to go!

Bloomsday

This weekend my family came to do Bloomsday with me. We had a joyous time, but what would any Rupke Saturday be without Costco. We went for Lunch. Mom, Andie, and I all walked away with shirts for the race. Yes, they are the same shirt in different colors. That's just how we roll. A week and a half left of school and then I'll be back on the west side where I hope to check off a few more Costco from the
list. I'm going to go to all of them in Washington before I graduate. Gotta get to it!

Dinner

Tonight I texted a few people to go to dinner and they we're all going super late, so I was getting ready to go myself when my roommate and Bethany walked in. They said, "We're going to order a pizza and we realized Costco is probably the cheapest, you want to go?" This is why they are my friends! So us three girls finished off a whole pizza minus two half pizzas which Brian finished off. Good times!

New Adventures

I apologize for the long lapse of posts. Costco trips in Vancouver are so frequent that I forget to blog! Then I didn't stumble upon any Costcos in Costa Rica. So finally I'm back in Spokane, and here we are with a blog post. Taylor and I went to get a lot of stuff today. So we got a cart. Etiquette tip of the day folks- Don't leave your cart in the middle of a aisle. There are a lot of other shoppers, the Costco carts are quite large, and its just impolite. So if stopping in an aisle make sure to scoot to the far side of the aisle to allow others to go through!

All I walked away with was a large whiteboard for my dorm room because the walls on my side are pretty bare! Now I have to figure out how to hang it with the dorm hanging restrictions.

Stay tuned this year folks, I hope to explore more Costcos all around the state, and build quite a repertoire of Costco experience.
