Trail Mix, Ben & Jerrys, and Letters to Juliet
Last Night was very enjoyable. It started with going to Costco for dinner with Taylor and her roommate Alyssa. Alyssa is one of the many people I have met here who I have weird family and friend connections too. I guess that's what happens when you attend your family's alumna mater. Anyways the only thing we bought was Trail Mix for our drive home this week. My etiquette point this week is if you are waiting to pick up a pizza don't stand in the same line as those ordering. It just confuses the line and makes it look longer.
Anyways, afterwards we went downtown to use my Ben & Jerrys coupons that I still have a ton of despite just giving them to people to go use. We had quite the adventure trying to find parking, who knew the mall was so popular Friday nights! We ended the night watching Letters to Juliet with a bunch of other girls and drank VitaRain and ate Cheez-its. Both bought at Costco. It was a great Costco filled night!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Cabelas
So I know it's not Costco, but I have to post about this weekend's adventure to Cabelas! Taylor and I had never been to Cabelas, so Braden was nice enough to drive us to Idaho so we could go. Ok, Idaho is only like a half hour away, and Cabelas was right over the border. Still we drove to Idaho! It was quite spectacular, an outdoorsmen's paradise. We didn't really buy anything, but it was kind of more of the experience anyways!
Then we did go to Costco. It was just a quick trip for Taylor to get some snow boots, because believe it or not it snows in Spokane. It is quite crazy, we already have snow! It's expensive to live in the snow! All these pieces of clothing I never had to buy before! So, anyways this week I got more wool socks. Again, I was disappointed in Spokane's sample selection.
This week's etiquette point has to do with membership. Yes, it is pretty great to bring people with out memberships to let them buy stuff. To make the lines go faster just pay for their stuff and have them pay you back. It is really the easiest way to do this, and it doesn't hold up the line!
Happy Sunday and Veteran's Day!

Girls Night
So I missed posting last week. I did go to Costco while I was home , but lapsed on writing a blog post. So forgive me. Daniel and I went just to eat the samples. Vancouver's Costco is much more impressive in the sample department. I tried quite a few good samples! Way to go Vancouver!
So today, Taylor and I just needed to get off campus because it had been a long week. However, a long week equaled some unnecessary purchases. We somehow both walked away with full cases of Vitarain. I also bought lots of socks, because my socks are going missing. I also bought my roommate dried mangoes because they're her favorite. I very well may have made her week. We, of course, finished up our visit with pizza for dinner. Since we had quite a few purchases we actually had a cart this time. This leads me to this week's etiquette point. It is ok to leave your cart unattended in the food. They check your receipt before you leave. No one is going to steal your merchandise.
Hope you are all having lovely Saturdays!

Parent's Weekend
So this weekend they had Costco night for Whitworth and Gonzaga students. They we're smart enough to plan it on parent's weekend so the parents could spoil us! Actually all I came away with was a huge box of Cheez-its. My parents bought these peppermint pretzels things that look awesome! But, they also had samples which is brings me to my next etiquette point. There is sample etiquette. When wanting a sample do not wait until they come out, you are just looking desperate. Also do not strike up a conversation with the server. You are holding up the rest of the line. If the sample is great enough to comment to the server, why don't you move out of the ways so others can enjoy!
Anyways so happy to go to Costco with the family, felt just like old times! Next week's post may come from Vancouver!

Trip Two:
Well we decided to go to Costco for dinner tonight. We got there about a half hour before closing so we didn't do much looking around. We bought what we needed to and left. Taylor bought Airbourne chewable tablets, which she really saved my life when introducing me to these. For those of you still suffering drinking Airbourne, let me tell you the chewable tablets are much less painful, and more delicious! So we decided to work a rotation where we will rotate who buys dinner each time, and it was my turn. When I got up to order Taylor's food I blanked on what she wanted and said a hot dog, and then realized she wanted cheese pizza. I was that person that I hated when I worked concessions over the summer. Sorry Costco food court man! While eating we got a lovely explanation from Braden about how there are many gluten free things in the world that we're always gluten free. They now just say those on the labels, because that is what is trendy right now.
While sitting at the food court, someone walked up in pajamas. This reminded me of the whole reason I was going to start this blog. I was going to start a Costco etiquette blog. So etiquette rule number one. Pajamas are not appropriate in public. Actually this is not just a rule for Costco, this is in general. I promise the next rule will be Costco specific. Anyways have a great weekend, and happy shopping!

First Trip
So this was so exciting! Taylor, Braden, and I make our first trip to Costco today for lunch since food on the weekends in Sodexo is not excellent. But, we also brought along my roommate Christy who got to experience Costco for only the second time in her life. It was so fun to see her excitement and all the wonderful things Costco sells. Also this may be a little dramatic, but going to Costco seriously was the thing that felt the most like home since I've been here in Spokane. Eating Costco pizza was almost as good as a home cooked meal.
There we're of course obvious difference between the Vancouver and Spokane Costcos. The main two being I didn't have Matt sweeping my feet while I was eating or have Teddy singing to me when I entered and then telling my family that we are beautiful when we left. But, the guy checking the receipts at the door was name Archie and I feel he might have some same Teddy qualities about him.
Made my first purchase-ICE drinks...big surprise :) (Also Braden is a bad photobomber, its blurry.)
I think I need this guy for Christmas.
